Each year, through our own unique Unique, Uni's many gifted students, together, contribute wonderful artworks—from stories to poems to drawings and pictures—that illustrate, inebriate, inform, and inspire. That is no different with the newest edition of Unique—Unique 2021-2022.
I remember receiving my copy of this anthology a few months back. And, to be honest, I have never actually perused the book until recently.

But I will say that when I did, I experienced more than what a normal book may give.
Unique 2021-2022 contains a variety of pieces—some packed with emotion, some very elegant, some extremely bewildering.
Yet, “I am Bad at Writing Poetry,” by Alyssa Martin really stood out to me. In that poem, Martin describes poetry as something marvelous but also as something difficult to apprehend. Thus, Martin finds such outstanding poetry difficult to recreate. I really liked this poem because it is very relatable. Even now, with many years of education, I too still find poetry tough. Additionally, "I am Bad at Writing Poetry" is written pretty clearly. The figurative language Martin chooses provides helpful vivid visuals.
Another piece that I enjoy is “moon bunny,” by Savindi Devmal. Not only is the drawing stunning (as shown), but the overall tone of the writing sounds very relaxing, very comforting, and very caring, which I find nice.
From reading an author’s work(s), you can grasp what they see and feel and/or how they think; they help you understand the writer. And in Unique, these writers are your peers.
So for those who own Unique book(s) and never read them or those who did not get the books and can borrow those of others, I would highly recommend you read at least one Unique book and maybe even submit a work of your own.

Great Review! I never really thought of it this way, but part of the appeal and entrancing qualities of a piece of literature is how it takes you into another world, partly by relating and therefore connecting personally to you. Not just personally knowing and existing in the same building as the author seven hours a day, but having also gone through the same four year curriculum of Uni takes that to a new level. It is literature as well as a better understanding of Uni, your own environment. Definitely looking forward to cracking open Unique again. - Eve
